• Ensures that network performance and availability are monitored and maintained.
• Supervises network rebooting and deals with operational problems.
• Conducts and monitors network upgrade and reconfiguration projects.
• Makes sure that all industry regulations and the company’s policies are observed.
• Aligns with others across divisions in creating network alterations and enhancements.
• Formulates and implements operational protocols for network systems.
• Examines measures of performance to identify opportunities for development.
• Deals with vendors and keeps tabs on new technologies for network enhancements.
• Makes sure the network is safe and executes plans to minimize possible risks.
• Guides and instructs network operation staff on effective work performance.

The following is the list of required skill sets and experience for the role of network operation manager:

• 7-10 years of prior professional experience in network operations, engineering, telecommunications, or related roles.
• Understanding of network protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, etc.
• Knowledge of standards, rules, and regulations of the telecommunication industry and network security.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Project management skills.
• Organizational skills and time management ability.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to think and act strategically in solving issues.
