Placing Saudis in Saudization – A Journey to Vision 2030

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently undergoing a remarkable economic transformation. Thanks to its national leadership, the country will soon become non-dependent on its Oil & Gas based revenue streams. The Saudi nationals, including Saudi women under the ‘Nitaqat’ policy implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Development (MoHRSD), are now encouraged to take the lead and diversify the national economy by being productive professionals in the Kingdom’s business world.

Innovative businesses operating in the Saudi Kingdom have realized the significance of hiring local Saudi talent simply because of the numerous benefits attached to them. The local hires avoid language and cultural competency barriers, the recruitment process becomes simplified, improve office attendance, increase work-related productivity, minimize staff turnover, and add to the local economy. Furthermore, companies can hire new Saudi graduates at reduced hiring costs while enhancing their brand image in the local markets....

Over the past few years, the Saudi government has implemented several programs and invested significant resources to upskill Saudi professionals, making them the first choice for employers operating in different industries. As expert Saudization executive search providers, RFS HR Consultancy has seen a surge in demand for recruiting Saudi nationals by businesses of all sizes. We believe it’s because of the government-based initiative to provide specialized ease of doing business to companies hiring more Saudis in their workplace.

Every year tech-savvy Saudis are now entering the private sector of the Saudi Kingdom as highly demanded employees, which has led private companies to get competitive in hiring the best Saudi talent. In these lines, specialist Saudization recruiters like RFS HR are playing a significant role in placing the Saudis in Saudization as we become the catalyst to achieve the collective Vision 2030 initiated by the government.

Large corporations operating in the Kingdom are now more inclined to hire young Saudis; this way, the concept of corporate knowledge sharing gets implemented as these enthusiastic professionals get hands-on training to become the future leaders of Saudi’s local business world. There is no more doubt that the true potential of Saudi professionals is being unlocked through Saudization-compliant companies. The Saudi professionals are already excelling by introducing unique business practices, higher region-based intelligentsia, and enabling turnkey opportunities for MNCs to initiate their strategic operations and FDIs (Foreign Direct Investments) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Nitaqat system or the Saudization program helps increase the employment of Saudi citizens in the private sector. The program classifies the country’s private companies into six categories: platinum, high green, medium green, low green, yellow and red. Platinum is the highest percentage category, followed by High Green and so on, with the Yellow and Red categories being the lowest.

Nitaqat requires private sector employers with more than nine employees to hire a certain percentage of Saudi nationals, depending on the company’s industry and the number of employees there. Unless you have one Saudi native in your workforce to improve your Nitaqat status from Red to Green, your company’s senior management’s Iqama will not be renewable if they are not a Saudi national.
